In a nutshell

Within this position you will play a key role in driving operational performance to support regulatory compliance across adult learning, funded provision. You will be directly responsible for the management of Lifetime’s compliance processing and funding claims functions, ensuring that all working practices are in line with both regulatory requirements and internal policies across both the current and the future operational footprint of the company.

This role sits as part of the senior team within Lifetime Training Group and reports directly to the funding and compliance director. The role is instrumental in improving our compliance governance, operational processes and partnering with key stakeholders to create and align best practice to deliver compliant learner journeys.

Managing internal compliance divisions, you will be responsible for ensuring that learners attracting funding have accurate documentation to support individual funding claims and have corresponding data submitted to relative funding bodies and regulators, driving accurate and compliant funding revenue across all adult learning programmes.

What will you be doing?

• Managing team performance, objectives and KPIs
• Ensure effective design and implementation of operational and compliance processes and policy in line with ESFA funding rules and other regulatory bodies
• Seek to streamline and formalise internal processes to maintain a learner-focused approach to our operational and compliance function
• Driving operational practice and compliance-based activities across the business to maximise compliant funding claims
• Ensure that the business is able to align and comply with anticipated operational and regulatory changes that may impact our business or the industry
• Leading a close the loop programme of activity, ensuring policy design and implementation is fit for purpose and delivering the desired impacts
• Develop and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders to drive continual improvement of operational compliance function
• Ensuring operational activities are recorded and evidenced within learner management systems

• High attention to detail.
• Experience of working within a business subject to regulatory frameworks
• Experience of managing teams across a variety of work-flows and processes
• A hands on approach to training, change management and understanding impacts of regulation on the business
• Good organisational and leadership skills, as previously demonstrated by that individual’s ability to organize and implement operational improvements across multiple functions
• The ability to lead a team to achieve team/department objectives with strong people management skills
• Confident and professional manner and drive improvement
• Process-driven and customer focused with strong planning and priority setting abilities
• A self-starter, motivated, results orientated and can work independently
• Completer / finisher with thorough follow up skills
• Robust approach to communication across different business units
