In a nutshell
The Database Administrator role is evolving towards a hybrid model with legacy on-prem servers (2014, 2016 and 2017) and Azure SQL PaaS databases, supporting a mix of MI, CRM interface ,website and other applications. We are looking for an individual will be adept at monitoring and maintaining the health of the SQL environment, identifying opportunities for improvement and potential problems particularly in the Azure sphere; liase with the development team and 3rd parties to progress ongoing projects and continuously improve processes. Ensuring that the organization stays security compliant.

What will you be doing?
- Primary DBA responsibilities include:
Ensuring all SQL databases function healthily to maintain their performance and availability - Performance Monitoring and Tuning; identify poorly performing SQL and recommend script and/or index changes
Responsibility for SQL Housekeeping – backup, consistency checking, etc. - Azure – make use of the available features (eg, SQL analytics, Security Centre, Defender, Elastic Job etc) to maintain and improve the performance , value and security of the databases
- Patching and upgrades
- TSQL scripting; powershell knowledge would be beneficial
What will you bring to the role?
- Significant experience in a similar SQL DBA role
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server 2014/2016/2017
- Experience of Azure SQL PaaS
- T-SQL language and scripting
- Merge Replication
